History, as told by the inbox.
A project to chronicle the pivotal moments of Silicon Valley through its most authentic primary source: the email. We are collecting definitive vignettes for a statement-piece book.
The Thesis
Primary sources from the digital frontier.
Official histories are polished. Press releases are sanitized. The real story—the doubt, the arguments, the breakthroughs—happened in the ephemeral space between "send" and "reply."
Emails are the raw artifacts of innovation. They capture the informal deals, the late-night strategy shifts, and the human conversations that shaped technology. This is an archival project to curate and contextualize these fragments into a cohesive, design-forward history.
Get Involved
This history is a collective effort.
This project is in its formative stage. We are actively seeking advisors, partners, and stories to help shape the narrative. Anonymity and privacy are paramount and will be rigorously protected.
If you were in the room (or on the thread) and wish to contribute a story or serve as an advisor, please reach out at contact@inboxinitiative.org.
